SusansHeadshot DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Hearts for Homes has just celebrated two years of outreach ministry in the Denton County area of Texas.  I stand in awe of how quickly this ministry has grown; a true sign that God's hand is in it!  Since beginning project work days in August of 2006, we have assisted many senior homeowners in the area, utilizing over 1,150 volunteers and amassing over 7,000 volunteer hours.  I cannot tell you how blessed I am to see the smiles and feel the warm hugs of these seniors as we serve them!  We are always seeking more volunteers who are skilled in construction and/or home repairs.  We have lots of volunteers, but need the skilled ones to lead the rest of them.

We recently held our first annual Heartbeat benefit dinner on May 4, 2008.  We were able to share our vision with approximately 150 people, and as a result, have many new supporters.  It was a delightful evening, filled with testimonials from volunteers, donors, board members, and senior homeowners.

We are always seeking Christ-centered churches in the Denton County area who would like to partner with Hearts for Homes.  This partnership may look different from church to church, as there are many needs within our ministry outreach.  Project volunteers are always needed.  Your church could prepare meals for our volunteers on work days - our version of Meals on Wheels!  Monthly financial support through your church's missions budget is also an option.  We have lots of materials donated, but we still have to purchase a large majority of the goods needed on project sites.  We will be happy to visit further with you about this option.  Just give us a call!

If you would like to learn more about being involved with Hearts for Homes, please complete our response form. Thanks for dropping in, and we look forward to getting to know you.

Having a heart for Him and a heart for homes,

Susan Frank
